PlaySafe, an outreach program of the UCSF Sports Medicine Center, cares for student-athletes in high schools around the Bay Area. We founded the program in 2002 with a threefold mission:
- To provide a safe, positive environment for athletic pursuits
- To make it easier for people to access the highest quality sports medicine care
- To encourage physical and mental growth by empowering student-athletes to lead balanced physically active lifestyles
Through PlaySafe, partner high schools have access to our team doctors and certified athletic trainers, who provide on-site medical services for their athletic programs.
