Darren Fiore

Dr. Darren Fiore is a pediatric hospitalist, a specialist in caring for hospitalized children. His expertise includes treating complex conditions and providing sedation to reduce patients' pain or anxiety during procedures. He is committed to improving hospital systems and educating the next generation of doctors.

Fiore is associate chief of the UCSF Division of Pediatric Hospital Medicine and medical director of the medical-surgical unit. As associate division chief, he focuses on patient safety and quality improvement initiatives, seeking to improve workflow, communication and efficiency in the inpatient setting. He directs the fellowship program in pediatric hospital medicine, which trains future specialists in the field.

Fiore earned his medical degree at the SUNY Downstate College of Medicine, part of the State University of New York system. At UCSF, he completed a residency in pediatrics, serving as chief resident.

Fiore is a fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics. He is a graduate of the UCSF Teaching Scholars Program and a member of the Haile T. Debas Academy of Medical Educators, and he serves as the Abraham Rudolph Endowed Chair in Pediatric Education.
