Nurse
Robin Bisgaard is a nurse who cares for patients in the children's intensive care nursery. She has worked in intensive care at UCSF since 1986, including as a nurse for babies needing extracorporeal membrane oxygenation (ECMO) – an advanced life-support technique – and as the discharge coordinator and case manager for infants with complex medical and surgical needs.
Bisgaard has also worked in neonatal and high-risk pediatric home care, and neonatal and pediatric transport, and as a research coordinator in the UCSF Fetal Treatment Center.
Bisgaard earned a bachelor's degree in nursing at Syracuse University and a master's degree in nursing with a concentration on nursing education at the University of Phoenix. She's currently working on a PhD at the UCSF School of Nursing.
