Hearing plays a vital role in a child's development and ability to communicate, so no child is too young to be tested or treated for hearing loss. UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals' Audiology program provides comprehensive services for infants and children with or at risk of hearing loss and those who demonstrate speech and language delays.
We offer state-of-the art hearing tests for children of all ages and evaluations for possible treatment with hearing aids, cochlear implants and other amplification devices. Our audiology specialists work closely with speech and language pathologists and developmental specialists to help kids achieve their fullest hearing and communication potential. UCSF's Cochlear Implant Program located in Oakland has been one of the leading pediatric audiology services in Northern California since 1991.
