Pediatric nurse practitioner

Jessica Brennan is a nurse practitioner who specializes in caring for children undergoing kidney transplantation for complex kidney disease. She sees them from the point of referral for transplant until they transition to adult care. She coordinates presurgical tests and other elements of the treatment plan, working as part of a team.

Brennan's wide-ranging research interests include finding better ways to prevent organ rejection, treating and managing infectious diseases that affect transplant patients, and improving patient education. She has published articles on chronic kidney disease, organ transplantation and the role of advanced practice nurses in the transplant field.

After earning her bachelor's degree in nursing from Montana State University, Brennan earned a master's degree in nursing with a minor in education at UCSF.

Brennan belongs to the American Society of Transplantation, where she serves on the advanced practice providers committee, and the International Pediatric Transplant Association.
