Social worker
Peggy O'Grady is a social worker who cares for pediatric cancer patients and their families, providing counseling and resource referrals. She also works closely with each child's health care team to address psychological well-being during treatment. Previously at UCSF, she worked with patients receiving treatment for abnormalities of the skull and face and patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation. She has more than 30 years of social work experience.
O'Grady earned her master's degree in social welfare from the University of California, Berkeley. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Before joining UCSF, she worked with immigrant and refugee populations as well as children with disabilities and their families.
