The Pediatric Immunotherapy Program, a service of the Oncology Clinic, provides leading-edge immunotherapy to children and adolescents receiving care from UCSF for cancer and immune disorders. Harnessing the power of the patient's own immune system to fight disease, immunotherapy can be used on its own or combined with other treatments.
Our team of experts includes pediatric oncologists, hematologists, immunologists and other specialists who collaborate to deliver compassionate care for a variety of conditions. We draw on pharmacogenomics (the study of how a person's genes affect their response to medications) to find the best possible treatment for each patient. Our treatment center was also the first in California to offer CAR-T cell therapy, a groundbreaking type of immunotherapy.
In addition, to evaluate promising new immunotherapies, we conduct clinical trials, which our patients may be eligible to join. This research allows us to offer the latest safe and effective treatments as soon as they become available. Alongside top-notch medical care and research, we also offer a wide range of services designed to support our patients' well-being throughout their treatment course.
