Alyson Pappas

Speech-language pathologist

Alyson Pappas is a speech-language pathologist who cares for adult and pediatric patients with complex feeding and swallowing disorders. To treat pediatric aerodigestive disorders (conditions that affect the respiratory and upper digestive tracts), she works collaboratively with specialists from other disciplines, with the goal of optimizing each child's development and wellness. She is a certified lactation counselor and has a particular interest in the care of infants with feeding and swallowing disorders.

Pappas earned her master's degree in speech-language pathology at the George Washington University. Prior to joining UCSF, she worked in a variety of clinical and hospital settings, most recently with the acute care rehabilitation team at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.

Pappas is a member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association and participates in the special interest group for swallowing disorders.
