Clarissa Hom

Dietitian

Clarissa Hom is a dietitian who cares for patients with inherited metabolic disorders, genetic conditions that interfere with the body's ability to break down various building blocks of food (protein, carbohydrate or fat). She works closely with patients and their families to optimize their health throughout life, adjusting dietary recommendations and formula needs as appropriate.

Hom earned her bachelor's degree in clinical nutrition at the University of California, Davis. She also has a master of public health degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. Prior to her current focus at UCSF, she worked with children receiving bone marrow transplants as well as preterm babies in the intensive care nursery. She also has experience in caring for adults, including through the Veterans Affairs Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System.
