Dr. Amlu Natesan is a specialist in pediatric emergency medicine who cares for children in the emergency department. She strives to take a compassionate approach that emphasizes communication and support of the entire family. Her goal is to provide each child with the best possible care.

In her research, Natesan focuses on immigrant health, seeking to address gaps in health care for underrepresented pediatric patients. She also studies traumatic injuries, with the goal of improving prevention strategies.

Natesan earned her medical and master of science degrees in a joint program of UCSF and the University of California, Berkeley. She completed a residency in pediatrics at UCLA Mattel Children's Hospital, followed by a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at UCSF.

As an immigrant and Bay Area local, Natesan is passionate about serving her community and advocating for her patients. Also passionate about health and education worldwide, she volunteers as a faculty member at the University of Global Health Equity in Rwanda, where she teaches medical students and helps design the curriculum for emergency medicine.
