About me

Dr. Annalisa Post is a perinatologist, an obstetrician who cares for patients with high-risk or complicated pregnancies. She has a special focus on pregnancies with fetal complications, such as birth defects, genetic disorders and complex multiple gestations (more than one fetus). She performs ultrasound-guided procedures, including amniocentesis and fetal reduction (decreasing the number of fetuses to make a multiple pregnancy safer). She also cares for pregnant people with high-risk medical conditions, including cancer, blood disorders, autoimmune diseases and other conditions that can lead to pregnancy complications, such as preeclampsia.

In her research, Post examines how to improve management of pregnancies complicated by monoamniotic twins (identical twins that share the same amniotic sac) as well as management of cancer during pregnancy. She also studies how maternal antibodies are transported across the placenta.

Post earned her medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry. She completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, followed by a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine at Duke University.

Post is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, Society for Maternal-Fetal Medicine, American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine and International Society of Ultrasound in Obstetrics and Gynecology.
