About me

Dr. Bo Qiu is a pediatric oncologist who cares for children with cancer. He has a particular focus on patients with high-risk tumors of the nervous system, including brain and spinal cord tumors and neuroblastoma.

In his research, Qiu investigates how cancer-causing genetic mutations rewire cells in the developing nervous system, with the goal of developing new therapies that specifically target these cancers.

Qiu earned his medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also earned a doctorate in cancer biology. At UCSF, he completed a residency in pediatrics and a fellowship in pediatric hematology-oncology.
