M. Catalina Cuervo

Dr. M. Catalina Cuervo is a family medicine doctor who provides comprehensive care for patients of all ages. She enjoys offering compassionate guidance to individuals and families during transitional phases of life, particularly seeking to support new parents during the prenatal, postpartum and newborn periods. She has special training in advanced breastfeeding medicine and is a licensed lactation consultant. Her practice emphasizes empowering patients, promoting healthful behaviors and preventing disease.

Cuervo earned her medical degree from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and completed a residency in family and community medicine at UCSF. She has a master of public health degree from the University of North Carolina.

In addition to caring for patients, Cuervo is proud to teach medical learners and support their career growth. She is also passionate about how the built environment (human-made surroundings in which people live, work and are physically active) affects health. She feels fortunate to live and work in San Francisco, a walkable city with public transit and a vibrant community. She also feels fortunate to live in a city with a rich history of advocacy and change, and hopes to be part of its progress toward greater equity and justice.
