Dr. Kate Cheng is a pediatric gastroenterologist and liver specialist specializes in treating various liver diseases, liver transplantation and obesity.

Cheng's research focuses on optimizing care and minimizing complications for children who are waiting for a liver transplant. She also advocates for children through her work on collaborative multicenter research projects and by serving on national committees.

Cheng earned her medical degree at the Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed a residency in pediatrics at the Indiana University School of Medicine, followed by fellowships in pediatric gastroenterology and pediatric transplant hepatology at UCSF.
