Dr. Kate Swanson is a perinatologist who cares for people with complex pregnancies, particularly those related to maternal or fetal genetic conditions. She also provides preconception care to families at risk of pregnancy complications or with a history of pregnancy loss.

In her research, Swanson focuses on the use of prenatal genetic testing to support patients, including how to make it accurate, accessible and understandable.

Swanson earned her medical degree and completed a residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Northwestern University. She completed a fellowship in maternal-fetal medicine and medical genetics at UCSF.
