Dr. Lisa Sinclair Hart is a specialist in pediatric emergency care who treats children in the emergency department at Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland. She has special interests in pediatric sedation, pediatric trauma and managing fever in patients who are immunocompromised and have cancer.
In research, Hart's main areas of interest have been managing cancer patients who experience a complication of chemotherapy called febrile neutropenia, pediatric sedation and improving the quality of pediatric emergency care.
Hart earned her medical degree from the Perelman School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed a residency in pediatrics at Children's Hospital of Philadelphia and a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at Children's National Hospital.
Hart has been heavily involved in developing videos for families that outline what to expect when a child receives care in the emergency department or is admitted to the hospital. She has long been interested in the history of medicine.
