Utku Kandemir

Dr. Utku Kandemir is an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in care for traumatic injuries. His areas of expertise include reconstruction after complex trauma. He treats fractures of the pelvis, hip, shoulder, elbow, arm, knee, ankle and leg; he also treats deformities and infections that develop after injury.

Kandemir's research focuses on fractures and joint biomechanics.

A native of Turkey, Kandemir completed his medical degree as well as residencies in internal medicine and orthopedic surgery at the Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine in Ankara. He completed a research fellowship in sports medicine at the University of Pittsburgh and a UCSF fellowship in orthopedic trauma at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center.

Kandemir is a member of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association, American Shoulder and Elbow Surgeons, AO North America and American College of Surgeons. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He has taught and lectured nationally and internationally.
