Dr. Y. Tina Tan is a specialist in pediatric emergency medicine. She evaluates and cares for children with conditions requiring immediate care, ranging from everyday injuries and illnesses to those that are serious or life-threatening.

In her research, Tan focuses on health care innovation, clinical operations and quality improvement. One of her specific interests is applying business principles to improve patient care delivery.

Tan earned her medical degree from Harvard Medical School. She completed a residency in pediatrics at UCSF, followed by a fellowship in pediatric emergency medicine at the University of Washington. She has a master of business administration degree from Harvard Business School.

Tan is passionate about teaching and mentoring residents and fellows.
