Erin Kilroy is a nurse who coordinates care for children who are referred to the UCSF pediatric surgery team. She teaches patients and their families about managing their conditions before and after surgery and acts as a liaison between inpatient and outpatient services to ensure continuity of care following discharge. Her specialties include triage of patient concerns and postoperative education, in particular the care of gastrostomy tubes (surgically placed feeding tubes that pass directly into the stomach) and ostomies (surgically created openings in the body to allow waste removal).
Kilroy earned a bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of San Francisco.
When she's not working, Kilroy often seeks adventure through athletics and outdoor activities. She is trained as a wilderness first responder.
