Evan D. Holloway is a pediatric psychologist who cares for children and adolescents with conditions that include anxiety and depression, providing cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and support for families. For pediatric primary care providers and school-based providers, he offers consultations on substance use, behavioral problems, and issues affecting youths and families impacted by violence and incarceration. He is part of UCSF’s consultation-liaison psychiatry team for medically hospitalized youths and also works with a specialized team to care for youths placed on psychiatric holds at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center. His expertise includes forensic psychology, the application of psychological knowledge and methods within the criminal justice system.

In research, Holloway studies how youths and families become entangled in the legal and foster care systems as well as ways to improve access to treatment for behavioral health problems. His goal is to support better mental health and legal outcomes for these young people.

Holloway earned his doctorate in psychology, with a specialty in forensic psychology, from Fordham University. At UCSF, he completed a fellowship in clinical psychology.
