Lisa Sears is a nurse who cares for children of all ages when they need specialty care in neurology, gastroenterology, pulmonology and cardiology, as well as for eating disorders. As a case manager for pediatric patients, she coordinates their care and ensures their needs are met by communicating with medical supply companies, school nurses, specialty genetic testing providers, in-home nurses and other types of providers.
Sears earned a bachelor of science degree in nursing through a joint program of Samuel Merritt University and St. Mary's College.
Sears started her career working in a hospital in Palo Alto caring for children on the hematology and oncology inpatient floor, then moved to Pleasanton, where she helped coordinate care for children being treated in the hospital for a variety of conditions. She has worked at UCSF since 2012.
