Maura O'Day is a pediatric nurse practitioner who specializes in caring for pediatric surgical patients. As part of the pediatric surgery team, she cares for infants and children before and after surgery for a wide variety of conditions. She is a champion of a team-based approach providing the best possible surgical care for children and their families. In addition to patient care, she has participated in various research projects with the pediatric surgery team.

O'Day earned a bachelor's degree in nursing from the Boston College William F. Connell School of Nursing. She earned a master's of science degree in nursing at UCSF, and at Emory University, she completed a training course and holds specialty certifications in wound, ostomy and continence care. (An ostomy is a surgically created opening to allow waste elimination.)
