Family nurse practitioner
Megan Dombrowski is a family nurse practitioner who cares for children as they prepare for surgery. Her duties include carrying out blood work and other preoperative tests.
Dombrowski completed her bachelor's and master's degrees in nursing at Georgetown University. She is a registered nurse first assistant, a certification that allows her to assist in surgical procedures.
Prior to joining UCSF in 2018, Dombrowski worked as a nurse practitioner with both the pediatric anesthesia team at Children's National Hospital and the pediatric general surgery team at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital Stanford. She was the nurse practitioner for Stanford’s adolescent bariatric surgery program, helping with earning the program’s accreditation by the American College of Surgeons. Her nursing experience also includes working with hospitalized patients undergoing surgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.
