Social worker
Monica Jarman is a social worker who cares for patients and families coping with illness and hospitalization. She provides psychosocial support, facilitates communication with health care providers, serves as an advocate and connects patients with services.
Jarman earned a master's degree in social welfare at the University of California, Los Angeles. She belongs to the National Association of Social Workers and teaches a course on families and health care advocacy through UC Berkeley Extension.
