Monifa Willis is a nurse practitioner with a specialty in mental health care. She evaluates youth with psychiatric disorders and develops treatment plans for these patients and their families. She works from a community-based, trauma-informed lens, with an interest in how generational trauma impacts individuals and communities. She also directs a 30-day service that provides stabilization to children and teenagers who have been seen for psychiatric emergencies.
Willis earned bachelor's degree in psychology at California State University, Long Beach and a master's degree in counseling psychology at Santa Clara University. She earned a master's degree at UCSF's psychiatric nurse practitioner program, training at Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital and Trauma Center as well as UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital Oakland.
