Roni Owyang is a physical therapist who cares for children in need of acute rehabilitative treatment, which supports functional recovery after an injury or debilitating illness. She focuses on empowering patients to regain or develop new mobility skills and believes that play and fun are essential parts of physical therapy.

Owyang earned her doctor of physical therapy degree in a joint program offered by UCSF and San Francisco State University.

    The first open fetal surgery in the world was performed at UCSF in the early 1980s.
