Sandra Garcia is a social worker who cares for children, teenagers and families affected by epilepsy. She provides psychosocial and emotional support, patient advocacy and help accessing resources to address school-related concerns. She also provides short-term therapy for patients and caregivers, and connects them with local mental health resources.

Garcia has cared for children with chronic illnesses in many of UCSF's practice areas. Before coming to UCSF, she provided intensive outpatient services for adults and children with complex mental health needs.

Garcia earned a master's degree in social welfare, with a focus on community mental health, from the University of California, Berkeley.
