Sports Physical Therapy Clinic
UCSF's Pediatric Sports Physical Therapy Clinic is a one-of-a-kind resource for the care and prevention of sports injuries in children and adolescents. We offer young athletes the most current treatments and educational programs. Our staff includes:
- Physical therapists
- Certified strength and conditioning specialists
- Certified athletic trainers
- Kinesiologists, specialists who address movement and balance
- Biomechanists, specialists who address the body's mechanical functioning
Our entire staff has a great deal of knowledge and experience in diagnosing, treating, and preventing sports-related injuries in children and adolescents.
We understand that the injuries common in active youths who are still growing are different from the injuries of adult athletes. Our experts work together to develop appropriate, custom treatment plans for each patient.
Safe sports recovery and injury prevention
We're the first sports medicine program in Northern California to work exclusively with young athletes. In addition to evaluating and treating sports-related injuries, we aim to give kids the education and training that will help them get back to their sports quickly and safely. To that end, we're the Bay Area's leading provider of sports performance classes and injury prevention programs.
Comprehensive and convenient rehabilitation services
Between the Pediatric Sports Therapy Clinic and its affiliated programs, our patients have access to a comprehensive suite of services.
Our team is experienced in addressing a wide range of sports injury and rehabilitation issues as well as the health and overall well-being of the child.
At all eight Sports Medicine Center for Young Athletes locations, we offer well-rounded rehabilitation programs to help young athletes reach their fullest potential.
Volunteering
To help the Pediatric Sports Physical Therapy Clinic run more smoothly, we rely on motivated volunteers for assistance with light cleaning and office duties. For information on becoming a volunteer, please visit UCSF's Volunteer Services website.
