Dentistry Clinic
The UCSF Pediatric Dentistry Clinic provides specialized dental care for children, ranging from regular cleanings to surgical procedures for complex dental conditions. Education and prevention are essential to our mission, which is why we help parents and kids establish healthy routines that can lessen or eliminate the need for future dental work.
Our comprehensive services include:
- Oral exams and cleanings for infants, children and teens
- Preventive treatments, including sealants, fluoride varnish applications and instructions for improving oral hygiene
- The latest in restorative care, from fillings to crowns
- Oral rehabilitation – such as teeth restoration – under general anesthesia
The Pediatric Dentistry Clinic collaborates as needed with UCSF specialists from other departments to provide complete oral care for all patients. Our goal is to achieve the best possible outcome for every child.
Our Oakland campus offers a variety of dental care options through a partnership with La Clínica, a provider of high-quality health care services at numerous sites in Alameda, Contra Costa and Solano counties. Known as La Clínica Dental at Children's Hospital, this group provides low-cost preventive and general dental services to children from infancy through adolescence. For pediatric patients who need anesthesia to safely receive dental care, appropriate treatment is provided at UCSF Benioff Children's Oakland location.
