Phase 1: Refurbish and Renovate
Restoration and renovation nearly complete
Working together with the City of Oakland and our neighbors, Phase 1 of our Campus Modernization Plan is nearing completion. The work we started in 2015 to update the campus has improved patient experience, care capacity, and provided critical infrastructure.
New outpatient center
To meet the need to provide more care services, a new six-story, 89,000 Sq. Ft. addition to the Outpatient Center opened in 2018. It includes health services in Cardiology, Dermatology, Ear-Nose-Throat, Lab, Pathology, Blood Bank, Pediatric Rehab, Neurology, and Urology-Nephrology.
Renovating facilities
Key enhancements across multiple departments help improve patient experiences. This includes the opening of our new Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, with 21 private rooms to provide more comfort for families.
Seismic safety
Some campus buildings range from 40 to 90 years old, necessitating upgrades by 2030. All acute care will be moved to newer buildings.
Improving infrastructure
Modernization of the Central Utility Plant will supply crucial patient and operational needs.
