Gastroenterology Clinic
An occasional upset stomach is just part of being a kid. But sometimes it's more serious. We're here to help with everything from the most common digestive issues to the most rare and complex illnesses.
Our Pediatric Gastroenterology Clinic cares for infants, children and teens with a wide range of symptoms and disorders of the stomach, intestines, liver and pancreas. We also offer specialized treatment for many gastrointestinal (GI) conditions. These include motility disorders, which disrupt the body's normal process of moving food and fluids through the digestive system, and conditions affecting the body's ability to absorb nutrients, such as cystic fibrosis and celiac disease (in which the immune system responds to gluten ingestion by attacking the small intestine).
Our team includes doctors, nurse specialists, registered dietitians, pharmacists, therapists, pain management specialists and other providers specifically trained to care for children. We work together to give your family a precise diagnosis and develop a treatment plan tailored to your child's needs. As leaders in research and therapeutic innovation, we strive to deliver the latest and most effective treatments, whether that means a new nutritional approach to managing a chronic illness or a novel surgical technique to address an urgent condition.
At UCSF, we're proud that our pediatric gastroenterology program is ranked among the best in the nation by U.S. News & World Report.
